In this piece I wanted to encapsulate how it feels to go to the fringe. Everyone is welcome, there are so many different people and personalities that feel accepted in a safe space like the Fringe. You are free to be your true self and let your hair down. There is so much to do and see at the Fringe; when you go, it makes your day better. It is something to look forward to after a hard day at work. It really is the sunshine after the rain. “Blobs are the windows to the Fringe” shows the happiness and love you feel when you go to the fringe. It is a time to be with friends and have a good time. It is always something the people of Adelaide look forward to year after year. It’s the perfect place for a first or your 100th date, it doesn’t matter, you feel special every time. Each window displays something different and unique about the Fringe, there is food, nature (the flowers blossoming after the rain), sunshine, the influence of Aboriginal culture, friends, love, drinks and the passion and fire of the Fringe. This poster can be pulled apart and manipulated to isolate certain elements to include on deliverables and merch for the promotion of the Fringe. It is simple yet designed in a way that it can be used to create unique and unexpected imagery for the Fringe. I have not yet seen a poster design that is so versatile and easy to use. It is all vector-based so there is no need to worry about blurriness. “Blobs are the windows to the Fringe” and the Fringe is the soul of Adelaide.
