

The poster was in the Top 50 Finalists. In this piece I wanted to encapsulate how it feels to go to the fringe. Everyone is welcome, there are so many different people and personalities yet somehow we all fit together and feel accepted in a safe space like the Fringe. You are free to be your true self and let your hair down. “Think outside the blob” embodies this accepting culture as it shows that everyone can be different yet come together to celebrate the uniqueness of Adelaide. Each blob has their own personality and creative flare, each one a pillar of what makes the Fringe an unforgettable experience. This poster can be pulled apart and manipulated to isolate certain characters and colours to include on deliverables for the promotion of the Fringe. It is a very versatile design and the blobs can be scaled up to create abstract shapes to apply to tickets or merchandise for example. It is simple yet designed in a way that it can be used to create unique and unexpected imagery for the Fringe. I have not yet seen a poster design that looks like “Think outside the blob”.
